Banda Sea

Banda Sea Aboard the Pindito

Yacht Dates: September 18–October 1, 2028
Price: $7,680 per person*

Join Worldwide Diving Adventures for an extraordinary dive expedition through Indonesia’s spectacular Banda Sea, one of the most remote and rewarding diving destinations in the world.

Located in southeastern Indonesia, east of Sulawesi and north of Timor-Leste, the Banda Sea lies in the heart of the Coral Triangle, renowned for its exceptional marine biodiversity. Volcanic islands rise dramatically from a deep sea (depths of more than 24,000′!), creating a remarkable marine ecosystem rich with marine life.

From potential big animal encounters with cetaceans, hammerhead sharks, pelagic fish, and manta rays to the fascinating creatures that macrophiles love— ghost pipefish, frogfish, wonderpuss and an incredible variety of nudis—the Banda Sea offers something for every diver. Add vibrant coral gardens, dramatic underwater topography, and remote reefs and you have the ingredients for a truly unforgettable expedition.

We’ll spend 14 days and 13 nights aboard the renowned dive yacht Pindito, traveling from Maumere to Ambon on an adventure through one of Indonesia’s most captivating marine regions.

Beyond our departure and arrival ports, the itinerary is designed to embrace the spirit of exploration. Rather than following a rigid schedule, we’ll work with the conditions and the crew’s local knowledge to seek out the best diving and ocean opportunities along the way. This is a trip for divers who appreciate the excitement of discovery and the freedom to go with the flow.

Built by owner and captain Edi Frommenwiler, the Pindito was one of the pioneering dive yachts to explore Indonesia’s remote archipelago. With more than 30 years of exploration and experience, the crew brings exceptional knowledge of the region’s dive sites, currents, and conditions. Their expertise helps us make the most of each day’s opportunities while providing a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experience.

With a dedicated crew of 20, we’ll enjoy attentive service, delicious meals, comfortable accommodations, and access to some of the world’s most spectacular diving—all while exploring places that few travelers ever experience.

The Banda Sea is famous for its dramatic underwater landscapes, healthy coral reefs, and opportunities to encounter large pelagic animals. Depending on the itinerary and conditions, we may explore colorful reefs teeming with tropical fish, steep walls dropping into the abyss, or be offshore in the blue looking for pelagic experiences.

Every day brings the possibility of something unexpected, making this expedition especially rewarding for divers who love variety, adventure, and exploring beyond the usual destinations.
